Grad Project Workout: Module 3: “A STEP TOWARDS PHOTOREALISM”, ARCHITECTURE VISUALIZATION USING VRAY 3.0

This workshop is the third phase from the Graduation project workout series at Megawra, and will examine different tools for photorealistic visualization using 3DSMAX and Vray for FAST rendering. This workshop is divided into different chapters; Materials, Lighting, cameras & Rendering, focusing on the different stages of the actual CGI image generation process using the greatest possible degree of photorealism. It is about understanding the process and the logic behind using these tools rather than presenting the tool only; knowing the whys and the hows.

What you will learn
You will be able to create full CG images. Starting with Materials, Lighting, cameras & Rendering, learning different techniques, and handling large scenes as well. Mainly tips and tricks to do what u want OPTIMIZED AND FAST.

OUTLINE:
1) MATERIAL

THE MAIN VARIABLES
-Diffuse, semi-diffuse and metals

PHOTOGRAPHY IS THE SOURCE OF EVERY THING
“CG photorealism is based on photography and not on reality or on the image of reality that reaches our retina. Nevertheless, reality is our most reliable and immediate reference and is, therefore, our main source of observation and information”.
-Texture.
-Composing and Appling texture to material.

THE KEY OF DETAIL
-Vray dirt.
-A closer look.

TIPS & TRICKS
-Randomness.
-Vray edge texture.
-wash up materials.
-Material libraries.

2)LIGHTING & RENDERING

EXTERIOR & INTERIOR
-Light balance.
-Ambient light & Main light.

ARTIFICAIL LIGHT
-Vray IES.
-Vray light.

GI PARAMETERS & RENDER SETTING
-Static images.
-Animation.
-Render output & Global parameters.

COMPOSITION

-Virtual Camera Vs Physical camera.
-Depth of field (DOF)
-Glares, Blooms & Flares.

TIPS & TRICKS
-Texturing lighting
-Optimization (Cutoff-xref)
-The power of “Frame buffer”.

Reservation is on a first come first served basis and is open from Thursday 20 March till the 15 places are filled. To reserve a place, please come and pay the fees at Megawra.
Participants should use their laptops in the workshop, with installed 3DSMax and Vray.

Speaker/Instructor
Abdallah Gad completed his Bsc degree from Cairo university in 2012. He worked for Many architectural firms in Cairo as an architectural designer and later as a design team leader. He also versatile with all architecture modelling and rendering tools

تدريبات مشروع التخرج: المرحلة الثالثة: Vray Rendering

الجزء الثالث من تدريبات مشروع التخرج هي ورشة عمل مكثفة لمدة يومين تركز على كيفية الاظهار السريع للمشروع باستخدام Vray rendering.
تنسم ورشة العمل لعدة أقسام: المواد والإضاءة والكاميرات والـ rendering
تهتم الورشة بفهم عملية الاظهار والمنطق وراء استخدام هذه الأدوات ولا تكتفي بعرض الأدوات فحسب، وذلك عن طريق معرفة أسباب وكيفية استخدامها.
