Working to bridge the gap between heritage and the contemporary creative industries, we offered product design students an overview of how to use Patterns of Cairo as a visual resource. It included insight into the concepts that emerged from the 2024 international workshop, and the later development and implementation of prototypes using various materials and techniques.

The talk formed part of the Design Talks programming by the Applied the Arts Department at the German University in Cairo.

The Patterns of Cairo Project is implemented by Megawra, and initiated by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Egypt as part of its commitment to the digitisation and democratisation of knowledge.
