An Architect’s Occupation

What occupies an Egyptian architect and university professor’s mind and manifest in his work ? and to which extent these occupations are consistent with the challenges that face the community? These questions are the center of the three parts talk that will focus mainly on the last ten years of many attempts done by the architect either in his practice or at the university.

Nabeel Elhady is an architect and professor at Cairo university, He initiated and organized for five years the annual architectural
students’ competition. Besides the academic responsibilities he is a practicing architect through his private practice named “noon” since 1998.
Through the projects undertaken by the office, continuous attempts are made to blend theories with realities in order to bring
about architecture that respects humanity and nature
