Andalusian Copper Art: a 3-day Workshop

The workshop will introduce the work of two young artists: Nora from Cairo, Egypt and Hamza from Fez Morocco. We look to preserve the traditional crafts by sharing skills and knowledge. Participants at the workshop become part of a trade that traditionally could only be entered into by young apprentices. Learning about the history of and threats to the tradition, they go away with invaluable skills, as well as a greater understanding of both the importance of the preservation of this craft, but also a sense for the importance of preservation of traditional crafts generally.

• Participants will get an intensive 3 day workshop where they make copper art through two different techniques; etching and sawing. from the fifth to the seventh of February. The organizers are keen on making a friendly environment for the workshop with fun activities as an andalusian music night by Hamza.

•Who can apply: The workshop is open for people who have interest in copper arts, traditional crafts and maghrebi and andalusian art
