Architectural Practice in South Africa
| We are pleased to host this lecture, in English, by distinguished South African Architect, Yusuf Patel, in which he will review the work of his architectural firm, Architects Collaborative CC.Yusuf Patel is the founder member of Architects Collaborative cc . He studied architecture at the University of Cape Town for his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and also holds a Master’s degree in Urban Design from Rice University (USA). He spent a semester at Harvard School of Graduate Design before returning to South Africa in 1978. He has been involved in numerous architectural and urban design projects and acted as an external examiner at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is registered with the South African Council of Architects as a practising architect. He is currently involved with the upgrade and extensions to Shifa Hospital in an on-going project which started in 2005.Architects Collaborative cc was established by Yusuf Patel in 1985 as an Architectural and Urban Design Practice in Durban, South Africa. In 1989 he was joined by the two other current members Andre Duvenage and Kevin MacGarry. The members have had many years of experience in the design of housing projects, hospitals, education buildings and social projects. They have acted as consultants to the Urban Foundation, Innova (Housing Utility Company) and private developers.Over the years the partners have taken part in many architectural design competitions and most recently have won first prize in the Heroes Monument Competition for Durban, second prize in the National Everite Housing Competition and were placed fourth in the competition for the New National Assembly Building in Kimberley for the Northern Cape Province.Architects Collaborative provides a fully comprehensive range of Architectural and Urban Design services and on an on-going basis fulfills appointments for all three tiers of Government (National, Provincial/Regional and Local) and a large number of private sector clients.http://accc.co.za/site/ |

نحن سعداء لاستضافة هذه المحاضرة باللغة الإنجليزية ، من خلال المهندس المعماري المميز الجنوب أفريقي ، يوسف باتيل ، والذي سيستعرض أعمال شركته المعمارية ، المهندسون المعماريون التعاونية CC .
يوسف باتيل هو عضو مؤسس لشركه المهندسين المعماريين التعاونيةCC . درس الهندسة المعمارية في جامعة كيب تاون حتي حصوله علي درجه البكالوريوس في الهندسة المعمارية ، وحاصل أيضا على درجة الماجستير في التصميم العمراني من جامعة رايس ( الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ). أمضى فصل دراسي في مدرسة هارفارد العليا للتصميم قبل أن يعود إلى جنوب أفريقيا في عام 1978. وقد شارك في العديد من مشاريع التصميم المعماري والحضري وأستضيف كممتحن خارجي في جامعة كوازولو ناتال. مسجل من مجلس جنوب أفريقيا للمهندسين المعماريين باعتباره مهندس معماري ممارس . وهو يشارك حاليا في توسعه ملحقات مستشفى الشفاء في مشروع بدأ في عام 2005.
تأسس مكتب المهندسين المعماريين التعاونية علي يد يوسف باتيل في عام 1985 باعتباره مكتب معماري و تصميم حضري في ديربان ، جنوب أفريقيا. في عام 1989 انضم اثنين من الأعضاء الحاليين اندريه دوفناج و كيفين ماك جري للمكتب . وكان للأعضاء سنوات عديدة من الخبرة في تصميم المشاريع السكنية والمستشفيات والمباني التعليم والمشاريع الاجتماعية .وأشتغلو كمستشارين للمؤسسة العمرانية ، إنوفا ( شركة مرافق الإسكان ) ومطوري القطاع الخاص.
على مدار السنوات شاركو في العديد من المسابقات التصميم المعماري ومؤخرا فازو بالجائزة الأول للنصب التذكاري للأبطال لديربان ، الجائزة الثانية في المسابقة الوطنية لأسكان أفيريت كما حصلو علي المركز الرابع للمنافسه علي تصميم مبنى الجمعية الوطنية الجديد في كيمبرلي لمقاطعة كيب الشمالية .
يوفر المهندسين المعماريين التعاونية مجموعة شاملة تماما من الخدمات المعمارية و التصميم العمراني لجميع المستويات الثلاثة الحكومية ( الوطنية ، الإقليمية / الإقليمية و المحلية) و عدد كبير من عملاء القطاع الخاص.
