Computational Design | Workshop B | Digital Fabrication – Materiality in Depth

Digital and information-based design methods and production techniques are explored and applied increasingly in contemporary architectural design procedures. Innovative material applications and production methods not only lead to the constructability of a new formal language: they let designers communicate directly with production facilities. The resulting possibilities for mass production of customized building components allow for the realization of structures of unforeseen complexity.

Learn more about fabrication and techniques to quickly create your real 3D model or even more complicated patterns and structure.

The participants will cooperate to come up with the workshop content and use the Fablab machines.

A  project is investigated for the use different material (maybe the Recycled one)and their properties to build a stable working shading area that deals efficiently with the summer sun by only material selection and fabrication technique.

M.Hassan holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from Ainshams University with honor and awarded Clemson University graduation participation. He is currently a teaching assistant at FUE and a founding member of MEGAWRA.

Ahmed Rihan is a young architect and researcher, He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from Ainshams University with honor and awarded Clemson University graduation participation, he participated in many national and international competitions and workshops, he was awarded some architectural contests, he is currently a teaching assistant at Future University in Egypt (FUE).
