“Entroterra Giambellino” is a lab 80 documentary produced in 2012 as the result of a one year research project conducted by a group of 40 researchers about one of the oldest suburban neighborhoods in Milan, Italy known for its populous residential blocks. 
The original, rural settlement from which the district evolved was a rural comune named “Lorenteggio e Uniti”.Massive construction of apartment blocks in Lorenteggio began in 1925. The district today is completely urban, with the last remainders of the rural landscape being only found past the boundary of Corsico.

Giambellino is facing-like all suburban developments- a lot of social, economic and urban development challenges.Armed struggle, bandits, taverns, immigrants, but also integration, hope, solidarity.
