The LEED Green Associate is the first step in a LEED professional’s path, evoking good environmental practice and skill in understand the LEED green building rating system and sustainable design. This course covers LEED fundamentals for those who are preparing to take the LEED Green Associate (GA) exam. The course covers broad green building principles associated with sustainability. The specific questions about the exam will be discussed as part of the course expectations.

Instructor’s Bio:
Shady Attia is an architectural engineer working as a scientific researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. He is also a member of the International Energy Agency Task 40 Team: Towards Net Zero Energy Buildings. This team is studying current net-zero, near net-zero and very tow energy buildings and to develop a common understanding, a harmonized international definitions framework, tools, innovative solutions and industry guidelines. He is an active member in ASHRAE, IBPSA, SBSE, ASES and USGBC, serves as a reviewer for one international journal beside the PLEA 2011 conference. As registered architect and LEED accredited professional, he has published more than 20 papers and articles, taught several classes and gave more than 35 presentations on building energy efficiency, sustainability, and renewable energy topics.
