Are you familiar with a neighbourhood in Cairo that has been designated by the Royal Society in London as one of their noteworthy communities? Or an aristocratic neighbourhood from the Mamluk era? or the bloody events that took place in Egypt’s history?

Be a part of our first tour in 2024, where we explore the Darb al-Ahmar area and discover the stories behind its significant buildings while capturing them through live sketching.

In collaboration with the Turathiyyah team, our live sketching tour starts at Bab Zuyawla, one of the main gates of Cairo, and finishes at the Sultan Hassan Mosque and School. As we make our way, we’ll have the opportunity to see the various cultural landmarks of the Darb al-Ahmar area, such as mosques, streets, shrines, and schools.
