Mapping Urban Water Flow (UMIS) – al-Khalifa
Study water flow in al-Khalifa area using urban metabolism information system tools developed for the urbinsight
Project, represented in Cairo by the Cairo University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture.
12-15 participants from urban, hydraulics, environmental and civil engineering backgrounds will work to arrive at a detailed map of flow and usage through field investigation, interviews and targeted surveys and site visits to water and sewage companies. Participants will be chosen through an open application system.
Urban metabolism is a model to facilitate the description and analysis of the flows of the materials and energy within cities. Mapping the urban water flow changes and directions. It provides researchers with a metaphorical framework to study the interactions of natural and human systems in specific regions.
The workshop is a primary study for the Athar Lina Ground Water Research Project organised by Megawra to include:
– ARCE Conservation School for Rising Damp and Salt Damage
– International School for Integrated solutions to underground Water Problems in Historic Cities
1st day:
-Introduction session about the project and its previous work and urban water flows
-Training on using the UMIS files.
2nd day:
-surveying and data entry.
3rd Day:
-presentation of the outcomes including diagram
-Ideas and recommendations

ورشة عمل عن رسم مسارات المياة العمرانية
ادرس مسار المياة في منطقة الخليفة باستخدام نظام معلومات الأيض العمراني، المطور لمشروع urbinsight، الممثل في القاهرة من قسم العمارة بكلية الهندسة جامعة القاهرة.
سيعمل ١٢ إلى ١٥ مشارك من خلفيات عمرانية وبيئية وهيدروليكية وهندسة مدنية على الوصول لرسم مفصل لسريان واستخدام المياة من خلال تحقيقات على الأرض و مقابلات واستبيانات موجهة وزيارة ميدانية لشركتي المياة والصرف. سيتم اختيار المشاركين من خلال نظام تقديم مفتوح.
الأيض العمراني هو نموذج لتسهيل وصف وتحليل سريان المواد و الطاقة داخل المدينة، فيمكن رسم تغيرات واتجاهات سريان الماء في المدينة. وبالتالي يزود الباحثين بإطار لدراسة التفاعلات بين الأنظمة الطبيعية و الإنسانية في مناطق معينة.
الورشة هي دراسة مبدأية لمشروع الأثر لنا البحثي عن المياة الأرضية المنظم من مجاورة والذي يشتمل على:
- مدرسة الحفاظ ومعالجة مشاكل الرطوبة والأملاح الممولة من مركز البحوث الأمريكي في مصر.
- المدرسة الدولية للحلول المتكاملة لمشاكل المياة الأرضية في المناطق التراثية.
اليوم الأول:
- محاضرة تعريفية عن المشروع و المشاريع السابقة و سريان المياة في المدينة.
-تدريب عملي على استخدام ملفات الUMIS
اليوم الثاني:
-استبيانات و ادخال البيانات
اليوم الثالث:
-إظهار المخرجات بما يشمل رسم بيانى
-أفكار و توصيات
