Sa’id Mahran in al-Khalifa Lecture & Tour

Join us in our upcoming tour and our new tour program, “Massar with Maissa,” in al-Khalifa’s new tour season, with the guidance of our long-last partner, tour guide, and Egyptology consultant Maissa Mustafa. In the tour, we will discuss the relationship between cinema and cultural heritage in the al-Khalifa neighbourhood.
Accompanied by the character “Sa’id Mahran,” portrayed by Shukri Sarhan, We will explore some of the shooting locations of “The Thief And The Dogs” (1962) film, directed by Kamal El Sheikh and based on Naguib Mahfouz’s novel.
Before starting the tour, a lecture will be conducted at Bayt al-Saliba, where we will go over the messages and interpretations of filming the film at those locations while playing some excerpts from the film.
Tour itinerary:
Bayt al-Saliba.
Taking Tuktuks to Tikiyyat al-Sultan Mahmud.
Wander around al-Hilmiyya neighbourhood.
Ahmad ibn Tulun Mosque.
Bayt al-Kritliyya.
Sabil Umm ‘Abbas.
Bayt al-Saliba.

محاضرة وجولة سعيد مهران في الخليفة

انضموا إلينا في تجربة فريدة من تقديم المرشدة السياحية ومستشارة التراث مايسة مصطفى،  والتي تشاركنا لسنة جديدة في سلسلة جولاتها الجديدة "مسار مع مايسة" كجزء من موسم جولات الخليفة الحالي. حيث نقوم بزيارة مواقع تصوير فيلم "اللص والكلاب" من خلال عيون شخصية سعيد مهران في حي الخليفة، نتعرف خلالها على التراث المادي لحي الخليفة وعلاقة السينما بالتراث.

سنتجوّل مع شخصية ”سعيد مهران“ في عدد من مواقع تصوير فيلم "اللص والكلاب"، إنتاج سنة ١٩٦٢، من إخراج كمال الشيخ، والمستوحاة من رواية الأديب نجيب محفوظ.

يسبق الجولة محاضرة في بيت الصليبة عن الرسائل والدلالات لتصوير الفيلم في الأماكن التراثية ومشاهدة بعض مقتطفات من الفيلم.
